Moving your business to new premises is usually a massive undertaking because you will not only have to deal with the logistics of the moving process, but you'll also have to do so without it putting a halt to your usual productivity. The CLEANERPRENEUR has some helpful tips on how to do both so that you can come out on the other end with a better and even more productive business.

Lightening the load

If you want your moving process to be conducted smoothly, then it might be beneficial to lighten the load, so to speak. Here, we are referring to enlisting the help of staff members to help do their bit to ensure that the moving process is as streamlined as possible. For example, if you have a cleaning business with loads of cleaning products to transport, then maybe your staff could help pack, load, and transfer some of your inventory for you to save on some of your moving costs.

Communicate your move with all relevant parties clearly

If you want your move to be almost unnoticeable, you'll want to clearly communicate your intentions with all relevant parties to ensure they aren't surprised at what you're about to do. This is especially important if you are planning on moving to a new location and want your customers to know where to go to stock up on cleaning supplies or enquire about cleaning services, for example. If you are on social media, you could post images of your new location on Instagram for all your existing customers to preview.

But suppose your images are not the correct specs, then you could make use of an online resizing tool to resize images according to Instagram's specifications. Just upload your image, select the appropriate image size and then download it to share on social media in a clearer format.

Have a storage facility as a backup plan

Perhaps you have lots to move, but just as much to get rid of at the same time. Then you could consider a storage unit to help buy you the time you need to decide what to do with all your excess inventory. For example, you could rent a ten-by-ten storage unit in Chinatown for just $210. Or you could rent out a ten-by-ten storage unit in the busy downtown LA for just $358 if being central is an important factor for you while you are in the process of getting everything sorted out.

Finding a reputable moving company

This will be the next step in ensuring your move goes as planned. Just be sure to select a moving company that has a credible history in moving commercial property so that you can rest assured that your belongings will be delivered as per schedule. You can research companies online and get a more accurate feel for who they are and what they do by reading their customer testimonials and reviews online.

Moving your business is sure to be hard work. However, you can minimize the stress associated with moving if you plan ahead better. It is equally important not to rush ahead if you want to avoid costly mistakes that could have been prevented by simply researching all your options, such as investigating the benefits of storage versus moving.
