Welcome to The House Cleaning Podcast and to episode #65!
In this episode I will update you as to why I have been away for so long and answer a few critical questions pertaining to the Cleanerpreneur project and The House Cleaning Podcast. Enjoy!
First of all, I want to start off by expressing my sincerest gratitude to all of you who have been messaging me and staying up to date with my whole situation. It truly shows that there are people with a good heart out there. Thank you!
So, what happened? Where have I been? What’s the deal with this project? And, what’s the future of this project? I will answer these questions as detailed as I possibly can in this episode. As many of you might recall, the last episode I published was when I interviewed Mary Velez of “The Cleaning Lady & Company”. That was episode #64 and it was published on March 13th of this year, 2019. I had already prepared episode #65 and #66. They were recorded and edited and ready to go. However, also around this time - in the beginning of March 2019 - I went through a medical issue that just completely threw me off track. Now, I don’t want to get too personal about it, but all I can say is that it took me a while to get back on my two feet. As if things weren’t already on the low, depressing-side of the spectrum, this summer one of my younger cousins passed away in a horrible hit-and-run accident in Fresno, California. I mean, you can imagine that this - in and of itself - completely threw off my psyche. Something like this can completely throw you off track. My entire family has been grieving and we’ve been able to gradually and collectively get through this entire situation. It’s difficult. It’s hard. But, I’ve been keeping you guys in mind, as well. And, I’ve also been thinking about how to apply everything in my life into a learnable experience. Look, I am of the belief that we can learn from every experience. And, you and I know that life happens. There will be medical issues that come up; there will be unforeseen events in your life that will completely sidetrack you; something will eventually be bound to happen that will catch you off-guard, that will pin you against the ropes. The important thing to remember; the culminate lesson that I’ve been trying to get you to implement in your business is this: have your business prepared for whenever you need to take a few weeks or a few months off when “life happens”. I’ve been fortunate enough to have learned about systems, processes and procedures a few years ago and because of this I started working on implementing them in my family’s house cleaning business. During these past few months, yes, I’ve been feeling down in the dumps - again, because of the medical issue and because of my cousin’s passing, but you know what? Our house cleaning business has been running smoothly. Why? Because we’ve systematized it to a point where - again, we can simply plug in the key, turn it on, and run it accordingly; the way we want it to run. And, that is what I would love for you to have as your goal as well. I’m not here to tell you that “bad things” are going to happen to you. Of course not! The last thing I want for you is to go through tough times. Quite the contrary, I always wish every single one of you nothing but the best. But, I do want you to be prepared, you guys. Have your business be prepared for the worst; and, have it be prepared so you can enjoy the best! Now, what’s the deal with this project? Don’t worry. I still plan to continue running, managing, and improving the Cleanerpreneur project and The House Cleaning Podcast. Everything will continue to be the same - I will still do my best to publish at least three episodes per week - you will still be able to listen to Strategy Mondays, Perspective Wednesdays, and Clean Your Mind Fridays. AND, I will continue to have guests on the show. So, what can you expect in the future? Well, first of all, I wanted to share with you that I was recently invited as an Expert Correspondent on Angela Brown’s YouTube channel, so keep an eye out for that. I know that A LOT of you who listen to my podcast are just great, big fans of Angela, so be on the lookout for that collaboration. Depending on when you’re listening to this episode, the video might be up and ready, so head on over to YouTube and search for Angela Brown and subscribe to her channel so you can be notified when my interview is uploaded. Also, I will be publishing a brand new book in January, 2020! This book will be about creating and implementing systems. Many of you know about my last book, “How to Get More Cleaning Customers”, which is available on Amazon (I’ll leave a link in the show notes in case you might be interested). Well, after several interactions with a lot of the buyers of that book, I came to the realization that a book about systems - particularly - house cleaning business systems was a must. So, again, I’m currently working on writing this new book which, as of right now, I can confidently, estimate that it will be available in January. What else? An online course. I’m working on delivering you guys with a premium online course that will help you systematize your house cleaning business. What will be the end result of taking this course? What will you obtain from taking this course? How will you be different? Well, first of all, this course will be for anyone who owns a house cleaning business, but has no systems in place - or anyone who would like to improve their systems, processes, and procedures. So, my guarantee by the end of the course is that you will have a systematized house cleaning business - that will be the end result. That is what you will have obtained from taking this course: a business that, again, all you will have to do every morning is: plug in the key, turn on the business, and run it the way you want it to run. In the beginning you will have a business, the way you have it right now - by the end of the course you will have a systematized business. That will be the difference from when you begin the course to when you finish it. Now, I’m currently beta-testing this course with a couple of different types of businesses - obviously, it will be primarily for house cleaning business owners, but all I can say right now is that pretty much anyone who owns a business that provides home maintenance services will be able to take this course - and, not only that, but improve and systematize his or her business. The date for this course is still not set, nor do I have an estimate. However, I will keep all of you informed of any updates. Finally, I want to reiterate my full commitment to this project. Many of you know that I have been offered side gigs since I started the Cleanerpreneur project and The House Cleaning Podcast. I’ve been offered work for various services to come in as a social media manager, as a PR consultant, and even as a manager to a couple of house cleaning companies in other cities in other states! However, I feel that my mission in life is to help as many house cleaning business owners as I can - so, I’ve decided to stick to this project, to improve it, and offer it to you and the world so that I can help many more people this way! I am still committed to talking to as many house cleaning business owners - and other types of business owners, as well. In an effort to help out as best as I can. I might take a while to answer to you, but I will begin to do so. So, if you have any house cleaning business-related questions, please send me a message either through my website, Cleanerpreneur.com, or send me a DM on Instagram. Well, that's it for today! Thank you for listening and I'll catch you on the next episode! Before you leave, remember to follow me on my social media accounts!
