35 - "Success is not final; Failure is not fatal."

Welcome to another edition of Clean Your Mind Fridays!

“Winston Churchill said: ‘Success is not final; failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.”
Success is not final.  Think about that for a minute.  Success is not final AND it should not be. You should never reach success.  Wait, what?!  That’s right, if you want to be “successful” you should never reach success.  You know why?  Because the minute people reach what they consider to be “success”; the minute they reach their goal; they start getting comfortable again; they start their decline and many times this turns into a vicious cycle.  A cycle that - to be honest with you - I’ve been in in the past.

You see, and that’s why you should never see “being successful” as reaching a point; rather you “become successful” while in pursuit of your goals.
And, that is why I ask that you always be striving to become more.
The moment you see yourself just steps away from reaching a goal, that’s the moment when you modify your goal to a higher level; that’s the moment you change your mindset in order to keep...striving.  “Success is not final.”

“Failure is not fatal.”  Come on you guys, you know that a bad review is not going to kill you or destroy your business.  You know that a “FAILURE” in a anything is a learning experience.  You know that’s my mindset.  We learn from everything.  And the best teachers in life are our failed attempts to become better.  Why?  Because we know after having “failed” that we must try it differently.

If you have an idea that you want to implement in your cleaning business but you just don’t have the guts to execute it because your thinking: “What if I fail”?!?  Then, let me tell you something.  It is at this point that you truly are failing.  Because not trying at all is failing.  Staying with the “what if” is failing.  If in 5 years you’re going to be asking yourself “what would have happened had I tried my idea” then you failed at that point.  "Failure is not fatal."

“It is the courage to continue that counts.”  This connects perfectly with the “failure” aspect of the quote.  Be courageous you guys.  Try stuff out.  Execute your ideas.  Reach out to other small business owners in an effort to learn from one another.  Whenever you’re thinking about doing something that can potentially be beneficial to your cleaning business but you stop cold in your tracks because of your thoughts; because of your mind, know this: You are the only one creating those obstacles.

Be courageous and take action.  Be courageous and dream big!
